In 2003 Simon took up the post of horn tutor at the Junior Royal Academy of Music and since September 2004 has also been Professor of Horn at Birmingham Conservatoire. As well as many scholarships and prizes many of his former students have gone on to achieve successful careers in the profession, several as principal players in orchestras including the CBSO, BBC Philharmonic, RPO and BBCNOW or in the West End. A vastly experienced orchestral and chamber coach, Simon undertakes seminars and master classes and also writes regularly on horn related matters.
